I met Tanielle and Naeem at a networking event back in March. We bonded over a terrible Netflix show that I had seen and they wanted to see. As well as the fact that Tanielle played my favourite game of “Guess my real name” with me, which I have done for the last 15 years and not one person has ever guessed my actual name correctly. Tanielle guessed it first time. I almost fell over when I heard my name come out of her mouth. We ended up being the last people there laughing and teaching Naeem how to say “Bo Kaap” properly. Ah, good times. Who knew shortly after this that Corona would hit and everything would change so dramatically.
Tanielle is a very entertaining actress/singer/dancer/you name it with quite the social media presence who has a blog called Daily Cup of T where she spends a lot of time and energy coming up with content to entertain mere mortals like me. I have linked it here so go check out her blog.
I was loaned a B10 Plus light (for only 36 hours) that I had wanted to test out by the lovely people at Profoto South Africa. So we managed to set up this shoot in a day. The aim was to test the light out in a few scenarios and in some harsh light. I used the light to fill in shadows on the photo of Tanielle jumping, as well as on the Coca Cola images. The light is small, compact, fit in my camera bag and was super quick to set up and take down, with a good power output to handle mid morning sun.
